Summer Study-Tour in Poland

Study Polish language this summer at Catholic University in Lublin, Poland. The language courses are for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels and include lectures, films, cultural performances, excursions to Warsaw, Kazimierz, and other places of interest as well as optional trips to Cracow and Białowieża National Park. The study-tour is led by Dr. Michael Mikoś, professor of Polish language and literature and leader of 27 study tours to Poland.

The study-tour is offered as a two-week or five-week program, and the program fee includes lodging and all meals in Poland, group travel in Poland, lectures, language classes, performances, health insurance and 5 UWM credits for the five-week program. Round-trip air transportation is NOT included.

The program fee is $2,688.00 for five weeks and $1,540.00 for two weeks. The study tour will take place from July 7 - August 11, 2008. Other intensive language courses are available.

Volunteers Wanted

The Polish Center of Wisconsin is always seeking new volunteers to assist with the many activities we are engaged in throughout the year. Schedules can be flexible, and volunteers can work individual events when their schedule permits or volunteer on a regular basis.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Office phone reception
  • Office bulk mailing preparations and special projects
  • Assist with special events such as fish fries, brunches and other events by selling tickets at the door, working as servers or clearing tables, or helping to seat people
  • Gardening
  • Assisting with our Wednesday night bingo sessions by selling bingo sheets, pull-tabs or raffle tickets or calling bingo numbers
  • Volunteering for one of the many jobs at Polish Fest, including selling or taking tickets, selling baked goods in the Kawiarnia, working as a bartender and more. For a Polish Fest volunteer form, click here.
