POLISH FEST

MEMBERSHIP

We invite you to support the Polish Heritage Alliance by becoming a member.  We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, originally incorporated in 1983 as Polish Festivals, Inc. Our mission is to promote the understanding and appreciation of Polish heritage and culture as embodied in its traditions, history, language, current affairs, and the arts.

We work to fulfill that mission by:

  • Holding concerts by Polish and Polish-American artists performing jazz, classical, polka and popular music selections
  • Offering workshops in traditional Polish crafts such as Pisanki (Easter egg decorating)
  • Displaying exhibits of painting, sculpture and photography by Polish and Polish-American artists
  • Offering genealogical resources and classes for those seeking to learn more about their ancestry
  • Holding an annual Polish Fest, a three day celebration of Polish heritage and culture
  • Working in cooperation with UWM to offer space for Polish language classes at the Polish Center
  • Holding traditional Polish holiday activities, such as a Wigilia, Christmas caroling, Three Kings Day and Pączki Day

In addition, the Polish Center holds Friday fish fries during Lent, champagne brunches, weekly bingo sessions, monthly card games, and other social activities for both our members and the general public, all with a Polish flavor.

We believe it is important to foster awareness and pride in Polish heritage for generations to come, and with the support of our members, we can continue to preserve and develop the essence and character of Polish culture and its significance to the community at large.

With your basic $25 membership you will receive:

  • Voting privileges at our quarterly membership meetings
  • Our quarterly newsletter The Polish Connection
  • Member discounts at some of our dining and cultural events

More importantly, your membership will add to our strength in representing and serving the Polish and Polish-American community in the greater Milwaukee area.  As we increase our numbers, we will be able to do even more to fulfill our mission to promote an understanding and appreciation of Polish heritage and culture.
